Rob Stuart is a health and fitness game changer. The motivator, certified Yoga therapist, and creator of holistichealthactivation.com, is adept with over a decade of research and exploration into the art of self-healing, fitness, and nutrition. He drastically transformed his own health through an unconventional and inspired holistic approach, and now is changing the game for countless others. Rob explains his holistic approach that he attributes his success to as “the way you move, what you eat, how you nourish your spirit, the people you surround yourself with, how you manage stress, how much fun you have, how much excitement you evoke, how you relate to your thoughts, and how much you laugh, determine how healthy you are and how good you feel.”
fullyalive101: Tell us about the work you do at holistichealthactivation.com
RS: My work is based on simple natural methods that anyone can adopt to achieve great health. The main philosophy behind my work is to let the body heal itself by removing the obstacles that keep it from doing so.
fullyalive101: How do you keep exercise exciting?
RS: To keep exercise fun is impossible. Trying to do so will lead to cognitive dissonance because exercise is hard work and hard work will never be fun all of the time. Understanding that sometimes it will be hard work and not fun is liberating. Except the challenge and take it on. A better way to approach "exercise" is to sometimes not do it... Get into the mindset of moving your body, playing, and exploring. This is different than just working out. I suggest scheduling both types of days. Some days exercise or workout and other days just play, move or explore. This will allow you to have fun and work hard.
fullyalive101: What is your favorite act of self-care?
RS: My favorite form of self-care is eating healthy (vegan, all whole foods) and moving my body daily.
fullyalive101: What is the wellness myth you would most like to dispel?
RS: A few myths that I would like to dispel around wellness is that eating animal products is healthy (it’s not and never will be compared to a plant based whole food diet), that you need supplements or super foods to be healthy, and that you can drastically change the shape of your body or health in two weeks or 30 days like you see on infomercials and On line advertising like 6 pack ab short cuts and body wraps... It takes hard work, discipline and a lot of time being consistent to make drastic changes to the way your body looks and functions.
fullyalive101: What does it mean to you to live FULLY ALIVE?
RS: Living Fully Alive means to me that you are honest and open about the reality that you are facing. Not avoiding tough things, enjoying the fun times and being present in the current moment while doing the best you can.
fullyalive101: Favorite yoga pose?
RS: My favorite yoga pose is the frog.
fullyalive101: What has one of your favorite adventures been?
RS: My favorite adventures have been road trips with friends, getting my body tattooed, and the best adventure of all is relationships with other humans.
fullyalive101: Mind, body, or spirit?
RS: All 3 all the time.
